Perfect Control

A psychotherapist is tasked with persuading a century-old spaceship crew, physically and psychologically adapted to life aboard their derelict vessel, to abandon their accustomed environment and return to Earth as interplanetary war engulfs the Solar System. He reviews their recorded memories and footage—devastating planetary battles and a meteor strike that stranded them—and faces conflicting views on survival, identity, and protection. The narrative examines how extreme adaptation can become a chosen refuge, the tension between communal duty and individual continuity, and the ethical difficulty of reintegrating isolated survivors into a hostile, changing world.
