About This Book
The narrative follows two desert children, Hamid and Rashid, and their friend Fatimah as they live in black tents, ride camels and ponies, hunt ostrich, and learn Bedouin customs. Scenes alternate between camp life and visits to the town of Medina, showing differences between desert and urban manners, games, and daily tasks. Adults instruct the children in hospitality, respect for elders, and tribal traditions, while playful episodes and travel with a caravan illustrate the landscape, animal life, and routines of nomadic desert families.
