Motor Matt's Reverse; or, Caught in a Losing Cause

The story follows Matt King, a daring motorist and aviator who becomes entangled in a plot orchestrated by rivals aiming to sabotage his aerial exploits. As he tests a new aeroplane and attempts an air-line run, betrayals, mechanical failures, and double-dealing by schemers including Amos Murgatroyd, Pecos Jones, Siwash Charley, and others complicate his progress. Allies such as Joe McGlory, a resourceful cowboy, Ping Pong, and Amy, Murgatroyd's niece, aid in rescues and revelations. Episodes of pursuit, narrow escapes, technical improvisation, and confrontations build toward the exposure of conspiracies and attempts to rescue or capture the airborne machine.
