About This Book
A junior promotions agent is dispatched to an isolated planet that must demonstrate a valuable export to join the Galactic Federation. Accompanied by a stenographer, he confronts cultural and technological backwardness, meets a diminutive local official, and searches for a marketable product. Observing scarce resources and a peculiar society, he conceives tourism as a potential export while negotiating local customs and bureaucratic expectations. The narrative follows his practical attempts to translate salesmanship into interstellar diplomacy and gently examines the optimism of corporate rhetoric, the awkwardness of first assignments, and the mismatch between promotion promises and on-the-ground realities.
