Oscar in Africa
About This Book
A young American named Oscar receives university orders to travel to Africa to hunt and collect specimens. He secures letters of introduction, meets an experienced hunter, and outfits himself despite local dealers, treachery, and a swindler. On the hunting grounds he faces dangerous game, hostile riders, midnight alarms, and skirmishes that test his courage and resourcefulness. With the aid of assistants such as McCann he preserves specimens for a museum, resolves personal encounters, and ultimately prepares to return to the coast after completing his field work.
