The Red House on Rowan Street

The plot follows Hugh Burton, who arrives to deliver a plea for reconciliation and finds himself drawn into a small-town mystery surrounding the Underwood family and a conspicuous red house. Strange attacks and an incendiary plot escalate as a highwayman's mask is discovered, a baby is endangered, and suspicions fall on various townspeople. Burton and local residents investigate, form committees, mount watches, and set traps, confronting family secrets, unstable loyalties, arrests, and flight.
