A Tourist Named Death

An operative named Dan Redman is assigned by a corporate team to investigate a developed but insular planet called Truth whose inhabitants are assembling a misleading intelligence picture to undermine a nearby development project. After earlier field agents were captured and false reports sent back, he is implanted with a covert organo-transceiver and outfitted with advanced gear, including a compact mataform transceiver and a glider to move between distant cities. The narrative follows his cautious insertion, efforts to gather reliable information, and an escalating clash between corporate planners and a mysterious organization already established on Truth, where technology and subterfuge determine control of the trade route.
