The Pirate Submarine
About This Book
Two shipbreakers convert an old military submarine into a disguised tramp steamer to run contraband and pursue piratical ventures. They assemble a motley crew, forge multiple sets of papers, and fit a movable superstructure so the vessel can resemble various coastal traders while retaining submersible abilities. The converted craft carries out raids and captures merchant ships, clashes with enemy warships, and deals with stowaways and growing discontent among the crew. A series of pursuits, naval engagements, and internal betrayals culminates in a decisive chase that determines the submarine's ultimate fate and the leaders' fortunes.
