The Starbusters

As old personal loyalties and rivalries resurface, officers contend with unfamiliar appendages, technicians, and opaque Project Warp tests imposed by headquarters. Tension deepens when intelligence describes a distant, group-minded alien species that is isolationist and possibly interstellar, raising the threat level for the Solar Combine. The narrative follows the crew’s adjustment to intrusive modifications, their interpersonal dynamics, and the mounting uncertainty as scientific trials and potential contact with an alien intelligence loom.
