Miss Tweedham's Elogarsn

A small human settlement on Mars struggles under the authority of a Martian high priest who controls the water supply and wields a mysterious weapon called the esse. A newly arrived woman, the settlement leader John Sanderson, the blustering Ed Early, and the Martian L'Sor confront decisions about resistance and survival. Early provokes a challenge to the priest's power and suffers the esse's devastating effect, revealing how fragile the colonists' hold on life is, how resource control enforces obedience, and how fear, courage, and shifting loyalties shape the community's responses.
