The Jupiter Weapon

The story follows Trella, a woman in a dome colony on Ganymede who, after a bar fight, is assisted by Quest Mansard, a compact but astonishingly strong man who claims to have been born on Jupiter. Though physically powerful enough to lift and toss unconscious people as if they weighed nothing, he resists violence and cannot bring himself to fight. As Trella learns that his parents lived on Jupiter until their life support failed and that their ship's radio and drive were sabotaged, the narrative probes whether his extraordinary strength and invulnerability mark him as human or as a weapon, exploring identity, the ethics of engineered power, and life in a fragile off-world settlement.
