Scrambled World

A small crew uses a Time Bubble to reach a far future where the sun is failing and thousands of miniature artificial worlds cluster near it; Earth has contracted and been treated like a preserved park. Seeking advanced knowledge to shield humanity from atomic decay, the travelers land only to have their ship vanish, leaving one to traverse a transformed landscape and confront uneasy, altered human communities and unfamiliar weaponry. The narrative follows his struggle for survival and return while probing consequences of technological meddling, the precariousness of civilizations, and the moral limits of salvaging progress from a radically reordered future.
