Chimera World

A corporate troubleshooter travels to Venus to investigate missing Lanka plant shipments and accompanies a young woman seeking her father; aboard his scout rocket interpersonal tension develops, but on Venus he encounters a baffling series of phenomena - apparently dead men living, disappearing ships, and surreal alterations of reality - and ultimately confronts the revelation that he himself has been dead for over a week. The narrative mixes planetary exploration, mystery, and speculative anomalies as the protagonist and his companion unravel the puzzle behind the vanished cargoes and the planet's strange life and death manifestations.
