In the original, marginal notes appear in the outer margin of the page (i.e. in the right margin of odd numbered pages, and the left margin of even numbered pages). In this edition, notes indicating original page numbers have been marked as right-margin notes, and notes indicating a paragraph’s subject have been marked as left-margin notes.
End-of-line hyphenation has been silently restored, following the the text itself as guidance where possible.
Likely printer’s errors have been corrected and marked as such. The irregular 17th century spelling has not been changed otherwise from how it appears in the 1906 edition of this work.
